Description

Each year, the Singapore HeritageFest continues to reveal the depth of Singapore's offerings, proving that despite its small size, there is much to discover. The 21st edition, happening from May 1 to 26, 2024, will feature a rich array of workshops, tours, exhibitions, and other engaging programs aimed at fostering a deeper connection with our beloved city.

This year's theme, "reliving the stories that connect us," invites participants to explore the untold narratives of Singapore's oldest buildings and landmarks. Join a walking tour led by DP Architects to trace the evolution of Singapore Downtown's urban landscape, including iconic landmarks like St Andrew’s Cathedral, Fullerton Hotel, and Golden Mile Complex, uncovering the city's rich history of urban planning. Alternatively, embark on a guided walking tour through 37 Emerald Hill, once home to the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School.

Explore the heart of Katong-Joo Chiat with the "Stories in Stone Katong-Joo Chiat Built Heritage and Historic Tour," learning about the fascinating stories behind famous Peranakan shophouses and landmarks like the Red House Bakery and the Former Joo Chiat Police Station.

Additional exploration opportunities include tours of NUS Baba House, Battlebox, Kampong Kapor Methodist Church, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Masjid Hajjah Fatimah, and Masjid Jamae Chulia.

Date: 1 - 26 May 2024
